Norman Frank Czaja, 93, of Temperance, MI, and formerly of Toledo, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born February 26, 1923, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Frank and Anna (Kozlowski) Czaja. A WWII Army Air Force Veteran, he married Dorothy Best on April 23, 1949. He was employed by LOF for 33 years, retiring in 1979. Norman was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and former member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Toledo. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing. Norman also loved woodworking and spent a lot of his time creating many craft pieces for his family and friends.
Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy; son, Gregory (Anna); daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Zucco, Pamela (Ted) Hafner, and Jackie (Brian) Van Kirk; grandchildren, John, Erica, Sarah, Austin, and Autumn; and great grandchildren, Taylour and Max.
A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, MI, on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 am.
